Meet Dr. Diacovo

Joseph Diacovo DMD MAGD

Dr. Diacovo, DMD, MAGD, is a graduate of the University of Pittsburg School of Dental Medicine and a lifelong resident of Kingston, NY. He returned to his home town of Kingston, New York to establish a cosmetic and restorative dental practice.

He received his BA from Colgate University and a Master’s degree in physical chemistry from Penn State University.

He is the recipient of the Academy of General Dentistry's prestigious MASTERSHIP AWARD for his commitment to advanced continuing education and training. There are less than 2000 dentists nationally who have received this honor since its inception. He has been a Fellow of the Academy since 1991.

He has been honored by the New York State Dental Society for the completion of over 2500 hours of advanced continuing education.

Dr. Diacovo is a past president of the Third District Dental Society of the State of New York. He served two terms as president of the Ulster-Greene County Dental Study Club and is a past chairman of the Third District Dental Claims Committee, which reviews malpractice actions brought against member dentists.
Dr. Diacovo has been a clinical research associate at NYU and his office has been approved as a clinical research site in conjunction with the University of Rochester and the National Institutes of Health. Research has included the study of post-operative sensitivity after tooth colored restorations, treatment of deep carious lesions and long-term endodontic outcomes. Data has also been collected on the use of bisphosphonates such as Fosamax and the relationship to osteonecrosis of the jaw.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, a Fellow of the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics and a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
He has advanced training in Cosmetic Dentistry through the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine's postgraduate program in Esthetic Dentistry and the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center's Clinical Cosmetic Dentistry Program.
He has also received advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of masticatory system and TMJ disorders at the internationally known Center for Advanced Dental Studies in St. Petersburg, Florida.
He has completed a mini residency in Orofacial Pain at the University of Kentucky and has been a member of the Clinical Research Study Group based at the University of Southern California and directed by Dr Terry Tanaka.
He also has advanced training in endodontics (root canal therapy) from Boston University, crown and bridge, implants and precision attachments.
